Mission Statement
Through the concept, strategy, and methodology of equity, the mission of the San Leandro High School Counseling Department is to professionally guide and foster growth in all students through our comprehensive counseling program, which targets Academic Development, Social & Emotional Development, and Career Exploration & Development. As a Counseling Department, we facilitate classroom experiences that assist students with curriculum needs and offer a diversity of educational paths that enable San Leandro High School students to investigate, research, and participate in courses that prepare them for post-secondary education and lifelong success. We engage in educational praxis designed to close the achievement gap, provide student support, critical information, and guidance. Through appropriate data driven decisions and crisis management, academic and psychological interventions are developed and applied to increase educational student success.
